Jens Jakob Jensen
Staff-Level Apple Platform Engineer (macOS & iOS)
I help teams design, implement, and stabilise complex Apple‑platform software.
My work focuses on systems that need to remain understandable, maintainable, and reliable over time. I often contribute where behaviour spans multiple layers of a system and the correct solution requires careful reasoning rather than quick fixes.
Typical engagements involve designing new components, implementing complex functionality, or investigating technical issues where the underlying cause is unclear.
What I help with
I work comfortably across the stack, from system behaviour and architecture to user‑facing interfaces, with a focus on conceptual clarity and long‑term maintainability.
- Designing maintainable macOS and iOS system architectures
- Implementing complex Apple‑platform functionality
- Investigating difficult or unexpected system behaviour
- Improving reliability and correctness in long‑lived systems
I particularly enjoy work where understanding the system deeply leads to simpler and more robust solutions.
Typical engagements
I typically work with teams where Apple-platform software is important to the product and careful system design makes a meaningful difference.
- Investigating difficult or unexpected behaviour across macOS or iOS systems
- Designing maintainable software structures for Apple-platform applications
- Improving reliability, correctness, and long-term system clarity in existing codebases
Background
I have worked professionally with software for more than two decades, including over ten years developing Apple‑platform systems.
Earlier work includes security‑sensitive macOS software, telecom applications, wearable and Bluetooth‑connected devices, and systems operating across hardware and software boundaries.
I hold an MSc in Computer Science / Software Engineering and a BSc in Mathematics.
